Kicking off our relationship with retail developers CenterCal in style was a trip to ICSC – the International Convention for Shopping Centres that was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. We were invited by CenterCal to join them at the world’s largest matchmaking meeting for shopping centre owners and retailers.
Turn Key founder Nik Entwistle spent four days at RECon15 along with 40,000 attendees from all over the world. Property agents including CBRE, JLL, Cushman and Wakefield attended alongside multi-billlion dollar shopping centre developers GGP, Westfield and Irvine Company. All types of retail brands were covered too, from Starbucks and McDonalds to the less covered, Hooters!
Even in Vegas, you can’t escape the Leeds effect – Leeds Trinity picked up the 2015 Best-of-the-Best VIVA Design and Development Award.
With experience in retail in the UK as a result of our ongoing partnership with retail developer Hammerson, we are well-positioned to take our expertise stateside and are excited to progress our relationship with CenterCal.
Networking in Vegas takes on a totally different slant – from pool parties with agents, launch ceremonies under the stars and dining with clients in some of the coolest restaurants, it’s now back to work with a sharp reality check to follow up all of those introductions.
As for conferences in Vegas, we’d say they’re a winning combination for clients and new business!
